Brief info
Kayla Zickler joins the Duncan MMA staff with over 6 years of coaching experience and over 20 years of wrestling experience. She was the assistant coach for three-years at Emory & Henry University in Emory, VA. Where she coached a x2 NCWWC women’s national qualifier and 3 NWCA men’s national qualifiers. She also coached at Cordova High School in Memphis, Tennessee for 3 years during grad school. While at CHS, she helped lead nine wrestlers to the TSSAA State Meet.
As an undergraduate at King (Tenn.) University, Zickler was a three-time All-American for the Lady Tornado, earning the honor as a freshman (2011), sophomore (2012) and senior (2014). She was also chosen to represent the USA at the 2012 Pan American Junior Championships in Peten, Guatemala where she won gold in the women's freestyle 51 kg class.
Zickler graduated from King in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and youth ministry. She holds a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary, which she earned in 2018. Zickler also holds "Copper" and "Bronze" coaching certifications from USA Wrestling.
